MISSION STATEMENT

DURYEE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION IS A 501c3 ORGANIZATION 

Our mission is to aid families and individuals in need within the city of Schenectady and surrounding areas. We aim to support self-sufficiency by providing training & supplemental services that deliver fundamental needs.  This mission is met by providing services such as transitional housing, job training, life skill courses and tutoring programs.

STEPS TO SELF SUFFICIENCY PROJECT

The Objective of this project:

To help people to become self-sufficient. Sojourning with a person through a transitional period in life. Assisting them to move from a stage of dependency to self-sufficiency. This is accompanied through:                 

  • Counseling

  • Job Readiness Training

  • Housing Assistance

  • Financial Literacy Training

  • Financial Assistance

  • Rental Assistance

  • Clothing Stipend

  • Transportation Stipend

  • Health & Wellness Education

  • Food Assistance

  • & Other Resources

OUR FOUNDER

REV. NICOLLE D. HARRIS 

Rev.  Nicolle D. Harris affectionately known as Rev. Nikki is the Pastor of Duryee Memorial AME Zion Church in Schenectady, NY. Arriving in July 2019. She is also the president of the Schenectady Branch of the NAACP. Pastor Harris is a graduate of Drew University where she received a Master of Divinity degree. She is currently studying for her Doctoral Degree at United Theological Seminary. She is a native of Asbury Park, NJ. In New Jersey she serves various non-profit organizations in manager and director positions.
